The Role:
Procuct Engineer I is an Early-Career role supporting aerospace investment casting processes, building a foundational engineering skillset and developing knowledge of the process through tasks and responsibilities such as process monitoring, part-specific production maintenance, tooling support, and yield improvement. This position offers exposure to all areas and processes involved in the manufacture of aerospace cast products in partnership with a mentor. As part of our 2-year graduate development program, participants will spend their first year in Oxford, AL before rotating to Groton, CT in year two, gaining valuable cross-site experience and exposure to different teams, products, and manufacturing environments.
  • Assist in Maintenance of Part-Specific Production
  • Assist in the Evaluation and Execution of Part-Specific Continuous Improvement & Defect Reduction
  • Contribute to the New Part Development Process
  • Demonstrate Proficiency in Dimensional Evaluation (Layout / CMM / Gauge / Bluelight)
  • Demonstrate Proficiency with Statistical Tools (Yield Evaluation, Correlation, Capability Analysis)
  • Demonstrate Proficiency in Problem Solving (RCCA Methods)
  • Engage with Operations to Understand Processes from an Execution Point of View & Develop "On Floor" Workplace Networks
  • Perform Role in Accordance with Safety Requirements & Guidelines

An ambitious individual who has aerospace industry experience. Ideally you will have a working knowledge of 3 or 5-axis CNC manufacturing, with a clear understanding of conventional metal removal, forming and joining.
We are also keen to hear from candidates who have knowledge of Solid Model/ CAD using auto-desk inventor software.
