Job description

Summary: 

  • The Buyer is responsible for assisting in the selection and purchasing of quality products at our Production facility in Midland, TX from a group of suppliers globally and or domestic along with the On time delivery of such goods.

Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Buying direct material parts from global suppliers
  • Negotiating pricing and terms with suppliers
  • Providing buying benefits such as savings, better lead times, terms, when buying parts
  • Assurance of supply on timely matter, following thru from ordering to delivery
  • Transacting and Placing Purchase Orders for Direct Material Needs in our Netsuite System
  • Maintaining records and estimated dates for deliveries in the system Netsuite
  • Keeping Supplier  and parts attributes in Netsuite up to date
  • Owning Supplier Leadtimes and working on improving them.
  • Owning Procrument-Receiving issues and disputed items resolution process for buy
  • Resolving Supplier Accounts Payable disputes
  • Assist in maintaining current inventory. 
  • Assists in research, analysis, and forecasting of current and future buying trends, and products. 
  • Maintains relationships with assigned wholesalers, vendors, and suppliers. 
  • Assists in negotiation of contracts with select wholesalers, vendors, and suppliers. 
  • Assigned to projects to support procurement of goods and services. 
  • Potential assignments to assist commodities to manage procurement and inventory levels. 
  • Maintaining healthy commercial relationships with suppliers
  • Maintains relationships with internal customers. 
  • Clear reporting of progress and expected deliveries. 
  • Infrequent travel may be required. 
  • Performs other related duties as assigned. 

Minimum Qualifications: 

  • Bachelors degree required in Business Administration, Supply Chain,  Finance, or related field. 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. 
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Excel, Word, NetSuite or related software. 
  • Ability to compile information and data to make decisions. 
  • Ability to work under pressure and to problem solving,
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. 
  • Fluent in English. 

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Experience with ERPs.  Purchasing Modules a must.
  • Experience negotiating supply chain contracts. 
  • 3 years of relevant experience for Senior Buyer level.
