What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Process Implementation Manager, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Process Implementation Manager, you need expertise in process analysis, project management, and continuous improvement methodologies, often supported by a bachelor's degree in business or engineering. Familiarity with Lean, Six Sigma, workflow automation tools, and project management software like MS Project or Asana is typically required. Strong communication, leadership, and change management skills help drive adoption and collaboration across teams. These skills ensure successful implementation of process improvements that enhance efficiency and achieve organizational goals.

What are some common challenges faced by Process Implementation Managers when introducing new processes, and how can they be effectively addressed?

Process Implementation Managers often encounter resistance to change from team members who are accustomed to existing workflows. Overcoming this challenge requires clear communication about the benefits of the new processes, involving stakeholders early in the planning phase, and providing thorough training. Additionally, unexpected technical or operational obstacles may arise, so flexibility and problem-solving skills are crucial. Regular feedback sessions and monitoring progress help ensure that any issues are promptly addressed, leading to smoother adoption and long-term success.

Job Description
ACCOUNTABILITIES
  • Manage the digital dexterity pipeline

  • Operate the platform-signal pipeline and standing cadence with DD (regular briefings for upcoming platform/tool changes and roadmap timing).

  • Lead SME contributions to the Change Impact Assessment (CIA): classify impact (high/medium/low), advise on appropriate enablement responses, and recommend timelines and resource needs.

  • Serve as the technical accuracy gate for platform-specific DD assets: validate "how it works at Takeda" guidance, maintain FAQs/known-issues, and define practical guardrails and approved practices.

  • Sign off on technical content prior to publish to reduce learner confusion and rework.

  • Own delivery of high-credibility enablement moments: demos, office hours, tech-update sessions, SME Q&A, and SME staffing for DD Live/regional events.

  • Develop reusable delivery playbooks (runbooks, demo scripts, SME briefing notes) and ensure enablement is consistently high quality across regions.

  • Manage and grow the SME roster (Platform & Tool SMEs, enablement specialists), including scheduling, SLAs, rotation plans, and capacity forecasting for launches and sustainment.

  • Ensure coverage for champions calls, office hours and local activations, and coordinate SME handoffs with the Product Owner and Program Manager.

  • Translate technical change signals into actionable inputs for the DD Product Owner and Instructional Designers (e.g., scope of work, recommended delivery formats, localization considerations).

  • Ensure clear acceptance criteria and sign-offs for tool-specific learning assets.

  • Act as the primary liaison to platform/product owners (DPE, Microsoft product owners, etc.), negotiating SME access and influence over timelines.

  • Work closely with Change Enablement to sequence messages and with Reporting & Measurement to ensure telemetry/usage is interpreted correctly.

  • Maintain a "technical accuracy" living register (known issues, workarounds) and incorporate feedback loops from Champions and regional delivery into improvements.

  • Drive post-release reviews for major launches and adapt SME playbooks to minimize recurring issues

  • Remain current on digital and emerging technologies and trends.

  • As a member of the Learning & Development team support other team activities as needed

  • All other duties reasonably required of the position

EDUCATION, BEHAVIOURAL COMPETENCIES AND SKILLS:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business, Education, or related field, or equivalent practical experience. Master's degree preferred

  • Minimum 7 years experience in platform/product enablement, technical training, digital workplace operations, or similar roles supporting enterprise adoption.

  • Demonstrated experience managing SMEs and coordinating enterprise-scale enablement (large launches, multi-region events, or enterprise rollouts).

  • Strong stakeholder management and negotiation experience with product/platform teams; experience establishing SLAs and managing cross-functional dependencies.

  • Practical understanding of Microsoft 365 ecosystem and enterprise collaboration platforms (Teams, SharePoint) and an appreciation for AI/agentic tooling (Copilot/myAibou).

  • Proven ability to create runbooks, knowledge bases, and repeatable delivery playbooks.

  • Strong stakeholder management skills, with experience presenting to senior leaders and translating strategy into operational plans.

  • Communication - ability to communicate ideas and data both verbally and written in a persuasive and appropriate manner.

  • Analytical Skills - ability to analyze a wide variety of data and make appropriate decisions.

  • Experience in managing multiple stakeholders networks

  • A strong executor, ability to implement deliverables in a timely and effective manner

  • Open to new ways of working and applying new methodologies

Preferred Skills & Attributes
  • Comfortable in a lean environment and skilled at applying automation or AI-enabled approaches to scale delivery.

  • Hands-on experience delivering demos and live enablement sessions at scale.

  • Experience contributing to Change Impact Assessment processes and aligning technical delivery to impact tiers.

  • Experience working in a matrixed environment and negotiating capacity tradeoffs across partner orgs.

  • Experience managing distributed SME teams and supporting global/regionally dispersed activations.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to translate technical details into practitioner-friendly guidance.
