Job description


Job Title: Process Maintenance Technician I Location: Clayton NC
Duration: 6 months
Schedule: (Nights) – 12-hour shifts (6:00pm to 6:30am) Top Three “Must Haves”:

  3. Strong maintenance background with troubleshooting knowledge.

Purpose: Improve systems and equipment reliability in the assigned process area, minimize downtime related to assigned process equipment, and support continuous operation and improvement.
Essential Functions:
  • Work in a safe and environmentally responsible manner.
  • Actively improve performance and reliability of process equipment.
  • Restore functionality to equipment effectively and technically correctly.
  • Participate in and support Event Response.
  • Perform corrective and preventative maintenance on assigned processes.
  • Operate, monitor, and control equipment, systems, and processes as needed.
  • Support and implement system/equipment reliability improvement projects.
  • Assist in all aspects of process operations.
  • Record and review production data in BPR’s and associated forms.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Physical Requirements:
  • Move equipment/supplies weighing up to 33 pounds.
  • Routinely operate and inspect manufacturing equipment using hands.
  • Stand/walk for up to a 12-hour shift.
  • Required: Corrected vision to 20/20** and **color vision.
  • Occasionally climb ladders or work at elevated heights.
  • Occasionally work around odorous/hazardous materials.
  • May require use of latex gloves.
  • Work in extremely cold environments when necessary.
  • Position oneself within confined spaces for inspection, repair, and maintenance.
  • Work in loud noise environments (hearing protection provided).
  • Occasionally work outdoors.
  • Must pass a driving exam for powered industrial trucks (driver’s license not required).

Qualifications:
  • Associate’s degree in a relevant field, or equivalent military/industrial training (with strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, & control systems) required.
  • Minimum three (3) years of relevant work experience required.
  • Preferred knowledge of: Compressed Air, Electro-Mechanical controls, Electrical, Mechanical, Instrumentation & robotics systems.
  • Experience with automated records systems (e.g., SAP), schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documents preferred.
  • Basic computer literacy preferred.
  • Experience supporting planning/execution of process functions and maintenance activities a plus.
