Position Summary

The SAP Functional Program Manager- AMS is a, cross-functional SAP leader responsible for leading SAP Application Management Services (AMS) delivery, including designing, governing, and delivering end-to-end SAP solution extensions, production support, and continuous improvement initiatives, with a primary focus on Sales and Supply Chain domains.

This role blends deep functional and technical expertise across SAP modules with hands-on delivery leadership, client engagement, and program oversight, while also managing run operations, enhancements, and project delivery. The Architect serves as the primary interface between U.S. business stakeholders and global delivery teams, ensuring scalable, secure, and high-quality SAP solutions across AMS, enhancements, and project initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

SAP AMS Leadership & Governance

  • Lead end-to-end SAP AMS delivery, including production support, incident management, problem management, change control, release planning, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Design and govern AMS operating models, including:
    • Support tier models (L1-L4)
    • SLA and KPI frameworks
    • Escalation paths
    • Governance and reporting cadence
  • Own service delivery performance, ensuring SLA adherence, quality, stability, and customer satisfaction.
  • Drive continuous service improvement (CSI) initiatives across operations, automation, monitoring, and knowledge management.

Solution Architecture & Functional Leadership

  • Lead end-to-end SAP solution architecture and design across a minimum of two SAP modules (SD/MM), ensuring alignment with business requirements, SAP best practices, and enterprise standards.
  • Validate functional configurations, cross-module integrations, and end-to-end business process flows across Sales and Supply Chain.
  • Review SAP ABAP developments and WRICEF objects, ensuring clean-core principles, performance optimization, and S/4HANA extensibility standards.
  • Provide architectural leadership across S/4HANA, SAP BTP, integrations, security, and extensibility frameworks.

Delivery Oversight - Projects & Enhancements

  • Oversee SAP delivery execution across AMS, small enhancements, releases, and project initiatives, including:
    • Governance
    • Planning
    • Resourcing
    • Quality management
    • Risk and dependency management
  • Lead cutover planning, go-live readiness, hypercare, and post-go-live stabilization.
  • Drive roadmap planning aligned to business priorities, system stability, and continuous innovation.

Client Engagement & Stakeholder Leadership

  • Serve as the single point of contact for U.S. business and IT leadership.
  • Own stakeholder engagement, communication, expectation management, and change leadership.
  • Lead governance forums, service reviews, operational meetings, and QBRs.
  • Translate business needs into scalable AMS and solution delivery strategies.

Operational Excellence & Incident Management

  • Lead major incident response, including:
    • Triage and crisis coordination
    • Root cause analysis (RCA)
    • Corrective and preventive action planning
    • Executive-level communication
  • Ensure adherence to ITIL-based operational processes, including incident, problem, change, and release management.
  • Drive monitoring optimization, automation, and self-healing initiatives
