Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Wide Format Printer Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in operating wide format printers, utilizing relevant software, and handling the installation of printed materials. This role requires a high level of technical expertise, precision, and a commitment to quality.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Printer Operation:
- Set up, operate, and maintain wide format printers (e.g., HP, Epson, Roland) to produce high-quality prints on various materials, including vinyl, canvas, and fabric.
- Monitor print jobs to ensure accuracy, color consistency, and quality standards are met.
- Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on printers to minimize downtime and ensure optimal performance.
2. Software Proficiency:
- Utilize software programs such as Adobe Creative Suite, RIP software (e.g., Onyx, Caldera, Flexi, Production Manager), and other print-related applications to prepare and manage print files.
- Ensure files are properly formatted and optimized for wide format printing, including color calibration, file resolution, and layout adjustments.
3. Material Handling & Installation:
- Prepare and cut materials for printing, ensuring correct dimensions and alignment.
- Install wide format prints in various settings, including vehicle wraps, wall graphics, banners, and signage installations.
- Apply laminates, adhesives, and other finishes to printed materials as required.
4. Quality Control:
- Conduct thorough inspections of printed materials to verify quality and adherence to client specifications.
- Address any print defects or issues immediately to maintain the highest standards of output.
5. Project Management:
- Collaborate with the design and sales teams to understand client needs and deliver projects on time.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring deadlines are met and client expectations are exceeded.
6. Safety & Compliance:
- Adhere to all company safety protocols and ensure the workspace remains clean and organized.
- Stay informed of industry standards and best practices in wide format printing and installation.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Wide Format Printer Specialist or similar role.
- Proficient in wide format printing software, including RIP software and Adobe Creative Suite.
- Strong technical skills in operating and maintaining wide format printers.
- Experience with material handling and installation of printed graphics.
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
