Victory Preparatory Academy (VPA) invites applications for the position of Assistant Principal Intern (Grades 6–12). This role serves as a direct support to the Lead Academic Administrator and offers an exceptional opportunity to gain experience in instructional leadership, curriculum implementation, and teacher development while contributing to the academic and cultural excellence of a high-performing charter school.

  • Salary Range: $65,000–$75,000, based on experience and education

Position Summary
The Assistant Principal Intern works under the direct supervision and mentorship of the Lead Academic Administrator. The role focuses on building leadership capacity in instructional oversight, staff development, and operational management while contributing to the ongoing improvement of teaching and learning across grades 6–12.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with instructional leadership through classroom observations, feedback cycles, and the review of lesson planning, preparation, and curriculum fidelity.
  • Collaborate on professional development planning, facilitation of staff meetings, and support for instructional coaching systems.
  • Monitor academic progress and support intervention systems, concurrent enrollment, standardized testing, and data analysis to inform decision-making.
  • Contribute to staff support and development by modeling effective practices and promoting consistent instructional focus.
  • Participate in maintaining a positive school culture through visibility, relationship-building, and consistent reinforcement of behavioral and academic expectations.
  • Assist with operational tasks such as master scheduling, assessment coordination, and compliance reporting.
  • Engage in leadership mentorship sessions, reflective practice, and goal-setting.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Valid Colorado Professional Educator License (Principal License preferred or in progress)
  • Minimum of three years of successful teaching experience
  • Knowledge of Colorado Academic Standards and statewide assessments (WIDA, CMAS, PSAT, SAT)
  • Enrollment in or completion of a principal preparation or administrative licensure program preferred
  • Demonstrated organizational, analytical, and leadership skills
