Job Summary: 
The Western Divisional, Principal Director leads a team of Regional Directors and Regional Consultants responsible for building, expanding, and deepening relationships with financial advisors across Envestnet’s regional verticals. This role focuses on driving Managed Account adoption and growth within regional markets while ensuring alignment with enterprise strategies and leveraging Envestnet’s Advisor Sales organization.
The Principal Director provides strategic direction, coaching, and oversight to Regional Directors and Regional Consultants, enabling them to execute territory strategies, deliver measurable growth, and achieve enterprise objectives. This role requires strong leadership, consultative expertise, and the ability to engage senior client and internal stakeholders to drive performance across multiple regional business lines.
Job Responsibilities:
  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of Regional Directors and Regional Consultants managing strategic advisor portfolios and high-potential accounts within assigned regions.
  • Drive Managed Account growth and adoption across regional verticals by collaborating with enterprise leadership and aligning with Envestnet’s strategic priorities.
  • Ensure Regional Directors and Consultants effectively leverage shared go-to-market (GTM) resources—including Advisor Sales, Customer Success, Marketing, and Centers of Excellence—to deliver coordinated solutions and maximize impact.
  • Oversee territory planning, revenue targets, and regional account strategies, providing guidance and direction to ensure consistent execution and goal attainment.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to implement enterprise initiatives, expand outsourced solutions, and support advisor practice transitions across regional markets.
  • Review performance metrics, pipeline health, and forecasts across Regional Director and Consultant portfolios; provide actionable insights and direction to optimize results.
  • Monitor industry trends, competitive activity, and emerging technologies to inform regional sales strategies and enhance advisor engagement.
  • Represent Envestnet externally at industry events, conferences, and executive client meetings, reinforcing the firm’s leadership and value proposition in regional markets.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement across Regional Directors and Consultants.
  • Ensure adherence to all legal, compliance, risk, and administrative policies.
  • Travel required: up to 50% to support team oversight, client engagement, and enterprise initiatives.
  • Adherence to and application of Envestnet legal, compliance, risk, business continuity and administrative policy within the role and department(s) including the timely completion of training & awareness, affirmations and testing as requested.  
  • As part of the responsibilities for this role, you will understand and readily support Envestnet's established corporate business practices, policies, internal controls and procedures designed to create value or minimize risk.
Required Qualifications: 
  • Bachelor’s degree required; MBA preferred.
  • 15+ years of experience in financial services, advisory platforms, or asset management sales, with at least 5 years managing senior client-facing leaders (Regional Directors, Regional Consultants, or equivalent).
  • Proven success driving Managed Account growth and achieving revenue objectives across multiple regions or business verticals.
  • Demonstrated experience collaborating with enterprise leadership and cross-functional teams to execute strategic initiatives.
  • Strong leadership capabilities with a proven record of developing high-performing teams and driving results through direct reports.
  • Exceptional executive presence and ability to influence senior client and internal stakeholders.
  • Analytical and data-driven, with the ability to translate insights into actionable sales strategies and team performance improvements.
  • A collaborative and strategic thinker who thrives in a fast-paced, matrixed organization.
  • Ability to travel 50–75% for team oversight, client engagement, and enterprise initiatives.

Salary:
The annual base salary range for this position is $150,000 to $200,000. 
This position is eligible for a variable pay based on a sales incentive plan.
