Job description

Primoris Engineering is seeking a Survey Technician to join our Houston Office to support several upcoming projects. Successful candidates will have experience with the latest Civil 3D software and Trimble Business Center.

As a Survey Technician, you will support office and field staff by processing incoming information and producing final land surveying project deliverables.  You will perform technical tasks utilizing the latest technology in the A/E/C industry. You will help increase project efficiency and client satisfaction by:

  • Processing data utilizing Primoris and Client standards, including the evaluation of accuracy and sufficiency, all while ensuring compliance to applicable land survey project and industry principles under the direction of your Supervisor
  • Monitoring field crew’s production and quality assurance
  • Preparing survey plats, legal descriptions and survey base drawings.
  • Performing quality control checks of plats, drawings and deliverables prepared by other technicians
  • Coordinating with Supervisor to ensure Client-specific demands are being met

Requirements

  • 5+ years of field or office experience in route survey projects, boundary analysis, DTM projects, and construction layout and data processing
  • Strong computer and technical skills; AutoCAD Civil 3D and Trimble Business Center required
  • Proficiency in technical math; Geometry and Trigonometry are a plus
  • Familiarity with GIS platforms is a plus, however it is not necessary
  • S.I.T. Certification is a plus however, it is not necessary
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to multi-task from project to project.
  • Exceptional organization skills
  • Works well in team environment with good communication skills both verbal and written.
