Job description

Job Overview:
Primoris Distribution Services (PDS), a division of Primoris Services Corporation, is a publicly owned and operated construction contracting company that provides both specific and turnkey services for its customers in the gas, oil, electric and telecommunications industry. Primoris Distribution Services is an industry leader in the installation of gas lines (plastic and steel).
We have an immediate opening for a Materials Controller in Jasper, GA. This position will be responsible for managing inventory and reporting material inventory usage.
Position Expectations:
  • Manage inventory and report material inventory usage by job/crew
  • Maintain sufficient inventory levels for current MSA project
  • Use of mechanized equipment to load/off load vehicles and organize yard and warehouse
  • Places material inventory orders
  • Receives material orders from project managers/general foreman for other miscellaneous projects and enters those with vendors for site deliveries.
  • Currently maintains excel based inventory tracking sheet (we are in the process of procuring inventory software to make this more user friendly)
  • Communicates with suppliers concerning order status
  • Adds new materials into inventory system.
  • Procures materials not stocked by our customer chosen material vendors.
  • Very good written and verbal communication skills at all levels

Educational & Minimum Requirements:
  • 3-5 years of Inventory/Materials management in an industrial environment or Utility/Construction Environment
  • High school/GED, any further education a plus
  • Previous Gas industry or utility industry experience a plus (familiar with material types)
  • MS Office proficiency
  • Very good written and verbal communication skills at all levels
  • Great organizational skills
  • Able to lift 50lbs
  • Physically capable of walking on uneven terrain
  • Mechanized Loading Equipment/Forklift experience a plus but not necessary.
