Job Overview:
R.B. Hinkle, a Primoris company, is a Contractor of Choice for PEPCO, BGE, Dominion Energy and Washington Gas.
We offer a full range of underground installation and repair/replacement services for power, telecom and gas utilities' residential and commercial market. We are very active in the Datacenter Market, providing required underground infrastructure (manholes and conduits) for telecom and power. Our fleet of bucket trucks and crews of Class A Linemen are experienced with new installation as well as maintenance and upgrade of existing overhead lines.
R.B. Hinkle is looking for a HSE Specialist for or Sterling, VA based team!
HSE Specialists provide front-line HSE support across an assigned operating region and are key members of regional HSE Teams supporting implementation and maintenance of the HSE Management System, ensuring operational compliance with regulatory requirements and conformance to internal standards. This role promotes
a positive safety culture throughout the region and works with operational leadership to enable continuous improvement of HSE performance.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Coordinates safety activities as directed by the Lead HSE Coordinator and the HSE Manager
  • Assists in investigations and analyzes incident reports
  • Has authority to correct hazards
  • Has stop work authority when job activities present unsafe or hazardous conditions
  • Assists with supervisory safety inspections, governmental safety standards, and codes
  • Performs daily project site inspections

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  • 3-5 years of industry relevant HSE experience strongly preferred; Construction, Electrical, or Utility
  • Detailed understanding of Federal, State, and local regulatory requirements
  • Strong analytical skills with demonstrated problem solving ability
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills
  • Ability to adapt well to fast-paced environments with changing circumstances, direction, and strategy
  • Strong interpersonal skills, excellent communication skills, strong relationship builder, solid influencing and negotiation skills, and the ability to coach front-line operations personnel
  • Must be able to work with a diverse interdisciplinary team to develop improved work processes
  • Experience supporting multiple projects concurrently
  • Proficient with MS Excel, Word, and Windows Operating Systems
  • Able to travel on short notice and up to 50% (subject to change)
  • Bilingual in Spanish preferred
