Job description

Qualified Mental Health Professional (QMHP)
Jefferson County Jail Wisconsin
Full-Time Monday-Friday 8 Hours Per Day
What You'll Do
As a Qualified Mental Health Professional with Southern Health Partners, you'll provide compassionate behavioral health services to patients within the correctional setting. You'll work as part of a multidisciplinary healthcare team to assess mental health needs, provide support, and help ensure patients receive appropriate care.
Your responsibilities may include:
  • Conducting mental health assessments and providing ongoing behavioral health support
  • Providing counseling, crisis intervention, and mental health education
  • Developing and participating in individualized treatment plans
  • Monitoring patient mental health needs and identifying changes requiring additional intervention
  • Collaborating with medical and correctional staff to promote patient safety and continuity of care
  • Maintaining accurate clinical documentation and records
  • Making appropriate referrals and coordinating follow-up care

Qualifications
Candidates may qualify for this position as a:
  • Psychiatric RN
  • Master Social Worker
  • Social Worker

Additional qualifications include:
  • Appropriate education, licensure, certification, or credentials for the applicable professional discipline
  • Strong communication, assessment, and documentation skills
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating with a multidisciplinary healthcare team
  • Experience in mental health, behavioral health, or a clinical setting preferred
  • Correctional healthcare experience is a plus, but not required
