Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough assessments and evaluations of patients' physical abilities and limitations, utilizing diagnostic tests to inform treatment plans.
  • Develop personalized exercise regimens and therapeutic interventions aimed at pain alleviation, enhanced mobility, and functionality.
  • Deliver physical therapy services directly to patients, both in the clinic and through home-based care, as required by the treatment plan.
  • Supervise and mentor Physical Therapy Assistants, ensuring adherence to patient care protocols and best practices in service delivery.
  • Utilize manual therapy techniques, therapeutic exercises, and modalities such as traction and electrical stimulation to enhance patient recovery.
  • Evaluate and adjust any necessary prosthetic and orthotic devices to meet patients' individual needs, in collaboration with physicians.
  • Document patient progress meticulously, including initial evaluations, treatment plans, progress notes, and discharge summaries, maintaining compliance with all regulatory standards.
  • Engage actively in interdisciplinary team meetings to optimize patient treatment strategies and outcomes.
  • Maintain ongoing communication with patients and their families to educate them about therapy processes, progress, and home exercise programs.
  • Participate in community outreach and educational programs, promoting awareness of physical therapy and wellness initiatives.
Patient Population / Client Focus

In this role, you will primarily serve individuals with orthopedic conditions, including post-operative recovery, sports injuries, chronic pain, and musculoskeletal disorders. Your objective will be to enhance their quality of life through tailored therapeutic exercises and education, empowering them to lead active, independent lives. You will engage with patients from various backgrounds, ensuring that care is culturally sensitive and meets the unique needs of each individual.

Qualifications
  • Licensed Physical Therapist with a current, in-good-standing license in the state of Virginia.
  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher from an accredited physical therapy program; Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) preferred.

  • Valid CPR certification.

Compensation and Benefits

The salary for this full-time position ranges from USD 90,000 to USD 110,000 annually, commensurate with experience.
