The Department of Orthopedic Surgery at Banner University Medicine Phoenix and the University of Arizona College of Medicine - Phoenix is excited to welcome an exceptional Hand Surgeon, offering a unique chance to join our esteemed hand surgery team. This presents a remarkable opportunity to become an integral part of our well-established practice within our state-of-the-art health system. The job is a unique collaboration between Banner Health, the largest healthcare provider in the Southwest, and the University of Arizona College of Medicine - Phoenix.
This unique private-public partnership offers the benefits of both academic and private practice medicine, bringing together some of the nation's top orthopedic surgeons with one of the nation's leading healthcare systems. The chosen candidate will receive a faculty appointment with the University of Arizona, tailored to their expertise. While this is an academic position, it also offers the benefits of private practice, including opportunity for physician ownership in a state-of-the-art surgery center at the brand-new Scottsdale Sports Medicine Center. This opportunity is unique, and truly offers the best of both worlds in academic excellence and clinical care in the fastest growing city in the United States.
Requirements:
  • Board Certified or Eligible in Hand Surgery (Plastics or Orthopedics)
  • ACGME-accredited Fellowship Training in Hand Surgery
Job Details:
  • Full-time position (1.0 FTE) involving Clinic Days and Surgical Days
  • Specializing in Elective & Trauma Hand Surgical Procedures
  • Engage in teaching and mentoring students, residents, and fellows. There is a hand fellowship associated with this position, with two hand fellows per year. The candidate will be invited to participate as faculty in the hand fellowship.
  • Dedicated research support from the University of Arizona - Phoenix
Practice Profile:
  • Collaborate within a team of 11 Ortho Surgeons, including experts in Hand, Trauma, Foot & Ankle, Sports Medicine, and General Orthopaedics
  • Join a broader community at Banner Health of six hand surgeons and over 50 orthopedic surgeons, primary care sports medicine specialists, and advanced practice providers in the largest orthopedic group in Phoenix, Arizona.
  • Collaborate with 20 Orthopedic Residents, 7 APPs, a dedicated MA, and splinting and casting support
  • Benefit from the support of a robust team, with mature referral patterns.
  • This position was vacated by an established hand surgeon in our community and the candidate will inherit a mature practice
