Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Precious Metals Sales Trader to join our commodity franchise. This role will focus on developing and managing corporate and institutional client relationships while delivering execution and risk management solutions across the precious metals complex.

The successful candidate will combine deep market knowledge, strong client relationships, and proven revenue generation across gold, silver, platinum, and palladium markets.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage relationships with corporate clients and institutional clients.

  • Provide execution and market color across the precious metals complex, including spot, forwards, swaps, and options

  • Originate and structure hedging and investment solutions tailored to client needs

  • Work closely with trading, structuring, and risk teams to price and execute transactions

  • Generate and communicate market insights, trade ideas, and liquidity opportunities to clients

  • Expand the firm's precious metals client franchise through new client acquisition and cross-selling opportunities

  • Maintain a strong understanding of macro drivers impacting precious metals, including interest rates, currency markets, and central bank activity

  • Ensure adherence to risk, compliance, and regulatory requirements

Qualifications

  • 8-15+ years of experience in precious metals sales trading role

  • Established relationships with corporate and institutional metals clients

  • Strong knowledge of precious metals products, including spot, forwards, options, and structured solutions

  • Demonstrated track record of revenue generation and client franchise development

  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and client management skills

  • Ability to operate in a fast-paced trading environment with strong commercial judgment

  • Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree preferred

Preferred Experience

  • Experience at a global investment bank, bullion bank, or major commodity trading firm

  • Strong familiarity with LBMA market structure and liquidity venues

  • Knowledge of OTC derivatives and structured metals products

The salary range reflects figures based on the primary location, which is listed first. The actual range for the role may differ based on the location of the role. In addition to salary, U.S. Bank offers a comprehensive benefits package, including incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase 401(k) contribution and pension (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). Pay Range: $194,225.00 - $228,500.00
