Job Summary
The Operational Excellence (OE) and Human Performance (HP) Consultant is a leader in Vistra's continuous improvement strategy.
The OE & HP Consultant will be a subject matter expert in Human Performance, Lean Thinking, Influence/coaching and other improvement methods/strategies.
Work closely with both site and Corp leadership to ensure successful implementation of OE/HP strategies.
Support leaders in identifying and delivering cross functional cost reduction initiatives, often leading improvement-focused teams.
Assist in the development, refinement, and implementation of training, tools, and other strategies for improving human and organizational performance across the fleet.
Lead learning from events in order to improve and prevent recurrence.
Act as a conduit of information up and down the org chart to improve understanding position and how it fits into the organization
Job Description
**Pay grade and salary will be determined by education and experience. Location is flexible to any Vistra location in the North East area.**
Key Accountabilities
• Work closely with the OE team and leaders to lead Human Performance and Operational Excellence efforts.
• Plan, deploy, and maintain a culture of learning, agility, and Continuous Improvement.
• Lead Operational Learning & Continuous Improvement efforts to improve reliability/safety/costs.
• Coordinate with OE team and leaders to ensure all employees have the training, practice, encouragement, modeling, coaching, and reinforcement to effectively deploy OE and HP tools, tactics, strategies, and philosophies.
• Continuously focus on the most up-to-date thinking/practices/research in OE and HP, constantly enhancing subject matter expertise.
• Assist leadership in engagement of all employees to sustain continuous improvement.
• Monitor and communicate progress of KPIs associated with OE and HP.
• Provide leadership / mentoring / training to all levels of the business on the use and practice a variety of HOP/Lean tools creating a culture of continuous improvement.
• Conduct assessment of the OPI & HOP programs through independent audits.
• Assist in the development, improvement, and delivery of OE and HP training for all levels of the organization.
• Conduct Learning Teams, process improvement and problem-solving events
Education, Experience, & Skill Requirements
• Bachelor's Degree in HRD, Psychology, OD, Industrial Engineering, or related field is preferred
• Minimum of 3 years experience in Human Performance Improvement, Organizational Development, and/or Process Improvement.
• Professional certifications desired: RCA, Just Culture, Influencer, Lean/Six Sigma, etc.
• Strong mentoring, training and coaching skills.
• Must be a superior communicator with small and large groups of varying seniority across multiple organizations.
• Experience in power generation highly preferred and will be considered in lieu of education and experience
