Job Title: Power System Engineer

Location: Irvine, CA

Work Type: Full Time/ Hybrid

The Power System Engineer will support the Software Deployment and Operations Division (SDOD) by contributing to ETAP software deployment, testing, automation, and technical support. This role combines electrical engineering fundamentals with software troubleshooting, requiring strong analytical skills and a passion for power system applications.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support installation, licensing, and configuration of ETAP software environments

  • Troubleshoot network communication and software deployment issues

  • Develop and execute manual and automated test procedures for ETAP features

  • Identify, log, and validate software defects and enhancements

  • Assist with multi-language deployment environments and system setup

  • Provide technical support and respond to customer inquiries

  • Collaborate with engineering teams and report project status

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field

  • Strong understanding of electrical engineering principles for power systems

  • Experience troubleshooting network and software environment issues

  • Familiarity with Windows OS (10/11) and database systems (SQL Server CE, SQLite)

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, SQL, and Python

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills

  • U.S. Citizenship or permanent residency/work authorization

Preferred Qualifications

  • Coursework in Power System Analysis (Load Flow, Short-Circuit, etc.)

  • Experience with software testing or automation

  • Familiarity with ETAP software or similar tools

  • Experience setting up test environments for software deployment

Salary Range:

65,000.00 - 108,000.00 USD Annual

This pay range represents the minimum and maximum compensation that the position offers, and final compensation can vary within the range depending on work location, job experience, skills, and relevant educational attainment and/or training.

ETAP requires all successful applicants to undergo and pass a comprehensive background check before they start employment. Background checks will be conducted in accordance with local laws and may, subject to those laws, include proof of educational attainment, employment history verification, proof of work authorization, criminal records, identity verification, credit check.
