Job Title: Powder Coat PainterJob DescriptionThe Powder Coat Painter manually racks materials for powder coating, prepares and finishes metal parts, and applies powder-based coatings using industrial painting equipment in a clean, smaller metal shop environment.
Responsibilities
- Manually rack metal materials and parts to prepare them for entry into the powder coat paint booth.
- Apply powder-based coatings to metal components using industrial painting and spray equipment.
- Prepare parts for painting, including cleaning, sanding, and other paint prep activities to ensure proper adhesion and finish quality.
- Operate coating machinery and paint lines, including manually moving lines in and out of the paint booths.
- Monitor the coating process to ensure consistent coverage, color, and finish according to specifications.
- Inspect parts before and after coating to verify quality standards and identify any defects or rework needs.
- Handle and move materials and finished parts safely, including lifting 15+ lbs consistently throughout the shift.
- Work safely in and around paint booths, metal shop equipment, and industrial painting tools.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area to support a safe and efficient production environment.
- Collaborate with team members on the paint line and within the shop to meet production schedules and quality expectations.
Essential Skills- 1+ years of powder coat paint experience in an industrial or metal shop environment.
- Hands-on experience with industrial painting, including paint prep and powder coating processes.
- Ability to manually rack and handle metal parts and materials for powder coating.
- Ability to lift 15+ lbs consistently throughout the workday.
- Experience operating paint lines and manually moving lines in and out of paint booths.
- Strong attention to detail to ensure high-quality finishes and adherence to specifications.
- Familiarity with working in paint booths and metal shop environments.
- Experience with coatings, spray application, and paint booth operations.
Additional Skills & Qualifications- 6+ months of forklift experience is a plus.
- Experience with sanding and surface preparation for paint and powder coating.
- Background working on paint lines in an industrial or metal shop setting.
- Exposure to industrial painting processes, including powder coat and spray applications.

Work Environment
The role is based in a clean, smaller machine and metal shop with approximately 40 people on shift, including office personnel. The environment is industrial and production-focused, with paint booths, powder coating equipment, paint lines, and metal shop tools in regular use. Team members work closely together in a setting where colleagues know each other by first name, fostering a collaborative and familiar atmosphere.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $20.00 - $26.00/hr.
