Job description

Schedule: Mon–Fri, 3:30 PM–12:00 AM + OT

The Powder Coating Team Lead oversees daily operations in a fast-paced cabinet and containment manufacturing environment. This hands-on role ensures high-quality finishes while leading a team, maintaining safety, and driving efficiency through Lean practices.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead, train, and support powder coating staff and line operators
  • Assign daily work using SAP and production schedules
  • Run pre-shift meetings focused on safety, quality, and goals
  • Monitor coating quality (prep, thickness, adhesion, curing)
  • Troubleshoot defects and partner with Quality on corrective actions
  • Track production, inventory, and work orders in SAP
  • Ensure proper equipment use (spray guns, booths, ovens, pretreatment)
  • Enforce safety standards (PPE, OSHA, lockout/tagout)
  • Drive 5S/Lean improvements to boost efficiency and reduce waste
Qualifications:
  • 5+ years in manufacturing/finishing (3+ in powder coating)
  • 2+ years in a lead or supervisory role
  • Experience with SAP or similar ERP/MRP systems
  • Strong knowledge of powder coating processes and quality standards
  • Familiarity with Lean, ISO 9001, or continuous improvement methods
