Job description

The Quality Inspector will inspect materials, parts and products to ensure adherence to established quality standards. The position may support production activities in mechanical, electrical, or kitting processes and as a result, essential functions of the job description may be different.


  • Reads and interprets drawings and industry specifications in order to develop specific inspection criteria which incorporates these requirements into inspection records IAW established policies and procedures.
  • As a mechanical inspector, performs inspections of parts and components using height gages, CMM, calipers, radius gages and other precision tooling as required by the specification
  • As an electrical inspector, performs inspections of cables and harnesses to ensure proper routing, splicing, crimping, soldering and termination IAW drawing and SAE AS50881
  • Completes First Article Inspection documentation IAW AS9102
  • Completes calibration of tool/jig required for the operation IAW established procedures
  • Recognizes incomplete or ambiguous technical data and submits required documentation (Form QA-105)
  • Recognizes issues with workmanship IAW associated industry specifications and technical data package; completes required documentation (i.e., Form QA-026, First Pass Yield, etc.)
  • Responsible for adequacy and completeness of inspection documentation supporting the operation or task performed.
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Education:

  • High School Diploma or Equivalency certificate

Experience:

  • Six years as a Quality Inspector in relevant area (mechanical or electrical)
  • Two years’ experience directly related to contract effort required.
  • Must be able to obtain required industry certifications/qualifications required of the position within 90 days of hire date
  • Must be able to utilize SolidWorks Inspection Module to complete required inspection tasks and documentation within 90 days of hire date

Any combination of education/experience may be substituted for job requirements at the recommendation of the hiring manager and approval of the COO and CEO.
