General Job Summary:

Performs part inspections at all phases of production. Supports Quality Engineering and Engineering with creating documentation for new product. Develops inspection programs for CMM inspection.

  • Follows all safety processes and procedures in accordance with the job and company policy
  • Understands and follows all quality procedures
  • Inspects parts for 1st piece, receiving, finals, and in-process Quality inspections
  • Completes First Article Inspection reports and capability study measurements
  • Develops inspection programs on the CMM/Vision system/Faro arm/Virtek
  • Supports Quality Engineering with quality documents: FAIR template setup, PPAP documents, certifications, capability study reports, etc.
  • Supports Engineering with creating manufacturing process control documents and quality plans using SolidWorks
  • Assists in dispositioning product with quality issues, creating NCMRs, and setting up rework operations

Education Experience

High school diploma or general education degree (GED). 3-5 years related experience or training

Associate’s degree (A.A.) preferred.

ASQ Certification preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience.


Computer Skills:

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and Internet Explorer. Familiar with CMM programming software. SolidWorks experience preferred. Minitab experience a plus.


Other Requirements:

Sheet metal fabrication experience preferred. Understanding and utilization of micrometers, verniers and scales (rulers), height gauges, protractors and optical comparators and coordinate measuring machines (CMM/PC-DMIS). Must have working knowledge of GD&T. Strong math skills with an emphasis on trigonometry and be able to work in inches and millimeters. Advanced measuring equipment (Romer arm, Faro arm, Virtek) experience helpful.

Must wear safety glasses with side shields and steel toe/composite shoes while on the production floor. Gloves may be required if handling parts. Hearing protection is required in designated areas.
