  • Leads and mentors a team of PostgreSQL developersย providingย technical guidance and best practicesย 

  • Designs and implements efficient data models for the Mid Office application ensuring scalability and performanceย 

  • Develops and implements strategies for performance tuning including query optimization and index managementย 

  • Creates andย maintainsย data retention and purging policies balancing regulatory requirements with system performanceย 

  • Collaborates with cross functional teams to align database design with application requirements and business needsย 

  • Implements and manages database security measures ensuring data integrity and compliance with industry standardsย 

  • Develops andย maintainsย documentation for database structures procedures and best practicesย 

  • Monitors database performance and proactively addresses potential issuesย 

  • Participates in code reviews and provides constructive feedback to team membersย 

  • Stays current with the latest PostgreSQL features and industry trends recommending improvements to our database infrastructureย 

What we are Looking Forย 

  • 7 years of experience in database administration and development with at least 3 years focused on PostgreSQLย 

  • Proven experience leading and mentoring database development teamsย 

  • Strong understanding of database performance tuning query optimization and indexing strategiesย 

  • Experience with dataย modelingย and database design in complex high transaction environmentsย 

  • Familiarity with travel industry data structures and processes is a plusย 

  • Proficiencyย in SQL PLย pgSQLย and experience with database migration toolsย 

  • Knowledge of data retention strategies and compliance requirements in the travel industryย 

  • Experience with database monitoring tools and performance analysisย 

  • Strongย problem solvingย skills and ability to work under pressure in aย fast pacedย environmentย 

  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal with the ability to explain complex database concepts to nontechnical stakeholdersย 

  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies and DevOps practicesย 

  • Experience withย cloud basedย database services particularly AWS RDS for PostgreSQL is a plusย
