We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced PostgreSQL Database Administrator (DBA) with strong expertise in AWS. The candidate will be responsible for the day-to-day management of PostgreSQL databases and will lead efforts to migrate and optimize our database infrastructure in the AWS cloud. This role requires deep knowledge of PostgreSQL database administration and AWS services, particularly related to database migration, performance tuning, and high availability.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and execute migration of on-prem (SQL/Oracle) databases to AWS Cloud Environment (PostgreSQL).
  • Remediate code from SQL/Oracle to PostgreSQL.
  • Install, configure, and manage PostgreSQL databases across various versions.
  • Optimize database performance and ensure high availability and scalability.
  • Design and implement backup and recovery strategies using native database tools and AWS services.
  • Manage PostgreSQL replication (streaming replication, logical replication) and high availability setups.
  • Implement and maintain PostgreSQL security policies, roles, and privileges.
  • Monitor database health and performance using tools like pgAdmin, AWS CloudWatch, and other monitoring solutions.
  • Perform regular database maintenance tasks including vacuuming, indexing, and query optimization.
  • Configure and manage PostgreSQL on AWS
  • Utilize AWS services such as S3, IAM, CloudWatch, and DMS for database operations and migration.
  • Design and implement disaster recovery strategies, including Multi-AZ deployments and failover configurations.
  • Collaborate with development and infrastructure teams to support application requirements.
  • Document database environments, configurations, and procedures.

Certifications (Preferred but not mandatory)

  • PostgreSQL Certified Professional (or equivalent)
