ResponsibilitiesWhat you get to do every day:

As a PostgreSQL Database Analyst you will analyze, design, develop, implement, and support SQL infrastructure deployment and management. You will work under limited supervision and perform additional duties as assigned to include, but not limited to:

  • Manages the functionality and efficiency of a group of servers running on one or more operating systems.
  • Maintains the integrity and security, configures role-base access control (RBAC), and sets up administrative accounts
  • Sets up administrator and service accounts.
  • Maintain documentation for configurations, standards, and procedures.
  • Interacts with users and evaluates vendor products.
  • Develops and monitors policies and standards for allocation related to the use of computing resources.
  • Develops and implements testing strategies and document results.
  • Provides advice on performance tuning and training to end-users.
  • Evaluates open-source or vendor tools and participates in database migration/special modernization projects.
  • Collaborate with developers on schema design, query optimization, and stored procedures.
  • Plan and execute database upgrades, patching, and migrations.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Participate in on-call rotations for after-hours support.
Qualifications

Clearance Required: Active TS clearance (with SCI Eligibility) and eligibility to obtain CI Poly

Education/Experience:

  • Requires Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical certifications or training, or work experience
  • 5+ years of of related database analysis and/or administration experience
Required Skills:
  • PostgreSQL experience required. Oracle database administration a plus.
  • CompTIA Security+ or equivalent recommended
  • Experience in PostgreSQL administration/tuning including knowledge and implementation of database high-availability solutions
  • Experience in monitoring, creating, and managing PostgreSQL server agent alerts
  • Experience with Database backup, restore, migration, and Database snapshot technologies/strategies
  • Knowledge on how to build/maintain efficient database table structures for both transactional and warehouse data
  • Knowledge of Oracle 19c administration and performance tuning
  • Migration experience with Oracle, MySQL, and PostgreSQL

  • The expected salary range within the Washington, DC metropolitan area is: $122,000-$135,000. Final compensation is unique to each individual and will be determined based on factors such as experience, education, geographic location, and contractual requirements. This is not a guarantee.
