Role: PostgreSQL DBA
Location: Chicago, IL (Onsite)
Duration: 6+ Months
Requirements:
Install, configure, upgrade, and maintain PostgreSQL database instances across production, staging, and development environments
Database migration experience, including Oracle to PostgreSQL, SQL Server to PostgreSQL, and on-premises to Azure migrations.
Design and implement backup, recovery, and disaster recovery strategies
Monitor database performance, identify bottlenecks, and optimize queries, indexes, and configurations
Ensure database security, including access controls, encryption, and compliance with regulatory standards
Plan and execute database migrations, upgrades, and capacity planning
Automate routine DBA tasks using scripting tools
Collaborate with development teams on schema design, query optimization, and data modeling
Troubleshoot and resolve production database incidents, often under time-sensitive conditions
