Job description

Position Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and compassionate Family Law Paralegal to support attorneys in all aspects of family law matters, including divorce, child custody, child support, alimony, domestic violence, adoption, and post-judgment proceedings. The ideal candidate is highly organized, able to manage multiple priorities, communicates professionally with clients, and thrives in a fast-paced legal environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist attorneys with all phases of family law cases from intake through resolution.
  • Prepare and electronically file pleadings and court documents in accordance with court rules and deadlines.
  • Maintain case files and organize client documents, exhibits, and evidence.
  • Coordinate attorney calendars, court hearings, mediations, depositions, and client meetings.
  • Communicate regularly with clients regarding case status, document requests, and scheduling while maintaining confidentiality and professionalism.
  • Track deadlines and ensure compliance with court orders and procedural requirements.
  • Support billing activities, time entry, and administrative tasks as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 2 years of family law paralegal experience (or as required by the employer).
  • Knowledge of family law procedures, court rules, and legal terminology.
  • Experience with e-filing systems and case management software.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
