Role Description The Litigation Paralegal at Tucker Law is a full-time, on-site role based in Fort Lauderdale, FL. This role supports attorneys throughout all phases of litigation, including case initiation, discovery, motion practice, trial preparation, and post-judgment matters. Day-to-day responsibilities include preparing, formatting, and organizing legal documents; managing case files and calendars; coordinating service and filing of pleadings and motions; and assisting with discovery, including drafting and reviewing responses and managing document production. The paralegal will also help prepare exhibits, trial binders, and hearing materials. The role also involves communicating with the attorney, clients, courts, and opposing counsel in a professional manner and supporting attorneys with administrative tasks related to active litigation matters.

Qualifications

  • Strong skills in legal document preparation, including drafting and formatting pleadings and related filings.
  • Strong computer and typing skills.
  • Experience with document review and organizing case materials, including discovery and evidence management.
  • Proficiency in legal research using online legal research tools and court resources.
  • Hands-on experience with pleadings and motions, including preparation, filing, and service.
  • Certificate or degree in paralegal studies or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Familiarity with state and federal court rules, filing procedures, and litigation timelines.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines, prioritize tasks, and work collaboratively in a fast-paced litigation environment.
  • Proficiency with legal practice management software, electronic filing systems, and standard office applications (e.g., MS Office, Acrobat, etc.).
