Description Sponsor and Leveraged Finance - Portfolio Management Associate Description Summary: The Sponsor and Leveraged Finance Portfolio Management Associate supports the Credit Products team and ongoing portfolio management and underwriting activities. In this role, the associate will build upon the foundation set as an Analyst in areas such as cash flow analysis and modeling, capitalization, industry research, credit policy and legal documentation, among others, in analyzing and summarizing the creditworthiness of clients and prospects. The Associate will also frequently collaborate with internal partners including Relationship Management, Credit Administration, Capital Markets, and other product partners in creating such analysis.

Duties & Responsibilities: Manage a portfolio of commercial loans and customers in partnership with the assigned relationship manager, Group Leader, PM Team Leader, Credit Officer and other stakeholders. Own primary responsibility for the credit quality and monitoring of Commercial portfolio risks. Responsible for risk rating new credits and ongoing updating of risk ratings in assigned portfolio.

Gather and analyze financial and business information to determine creditworthiness for loan and credit products. Complete financial spreads, performance tear sheets, compliance testing, and other portfolio monitoring & maintenance activities Portfolio Management of commercial loans in accordance with Huntington credit policies. This may include underwriting, financial statement analysis, collateral analysis, financial modeling, industry and business risk evaluation and management assessment.

Conduct industry and market research using numerous resources available; distilling key themes and conclusions into concise summary form for presentation purposes. A more experienced Associate may be assigned direct portfolio management coverage responsibilities, typically with the oversight of a Director level PM. Assist with training and/or mentoring Analyst level colleagues.

Basic Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree required (Finance, Accounting, or related field) 2 - 4 years of experience in a portfolio management or commercial banking environment. Preferred Qualifications: 5 years of diversified banking experience including portfolio management experience and positions of increasing responsibility, with exposure to Sponsor and Leveraged Finance Understanding and utilization of credit skills for credit decision making, monitoring, and managing of a credit through repayment Completion of formalized credit training program Demonstrated success researching, judging and presenting information verbally and in writing; creating documentation to support the credit and minimize risk Proven ability to manage workflow and deadlines, while effectively balancing competing priorities Demonstrated leadership experience by providing coaching, skill development and feedback to team members Proficiency using Microsoft Word and Excel and other software applications that are supportive of the loan underwriting process Strong written and verbal communication skills High degree of professionalism.
