We are looking for an experienced and hands-on Senior Portfolio Manager to rebuild and further professionalize portfolio management across our global innovation organization. This is a unique opportunity to create a best-in-class portfolio management capability from the ground up. You will work closely with senior innovation and product leaders across our Poultry, Fish, Meat and Prepared Foods divisions, creating visibility, governance and insights that directly influence executive decision-making. If you combine strong analytical capabilities with the ability to build relationships, influence stakeholders and turn complex data into actionable business insights, we would like to hear from you.

The Opportunity

The Senior Portfolio Manager is responsible for setting up and constantly professionalizing JBT Marels portfolio framework and direction both in terms of new product development and product lifecycle management. The Senior Portfolio Manager is responsible for the framework for portfolio related data and ensures availability of core portfolio data on performance through well-organized systems and tools. The role is responsible for a framework around a regular reporting cycle on portfolio performance as well that related systems (e.g., Planview) support the annual reporting cycle. The Senior Portfolio Manager, in strong partnership with the heads of product/innovation in the divisions, makes sure that we are developing the right products, software and services that support JBT Marels growth strategy through a well-balanced development pipeline that meets market demands.

What You'll Do

Portfolio Governance & Analytics

  • Responsible for the portfolio management process in JBT Marel, in close cooperation with all heads of product/innovation across the organization.
  • Create a governance around Portfolio data including developing dashboards and reports that support Portfolio Management.
  • Create a standard for best practices for Portfolio Management, create and validate reports before they are released to a broader business and make sure they are based on reliable and accurate information and in line with the standards.
  • Create insights into the portfolio and spot new opportunities to strengthen the output of the product development process.
  • Mature methods to monitor and review the progress of the overall portfolio.

Systems & Tools

  • Responsible for designing and implementing Planview related programs (new/upgrades) across the organization, e.g. based on an approved business case, structure/project timelines and cost. Coordinate project participants from functions/divisions, distribute activities to team members as needed to secure major milestones.
  • Facilitate portfolio management processes, systems and decision-making.
  • Ensure portfolio data is translated into meaningful dashboards, portfolio views, funnel analyses, gap assessments and executive-level reporting.

Stakeholder Management & Strategic Impact

  • Partner with innovation and product leaders to support portfolio reviews and investment decisions.
  • Apply agility to support re-alignment of the portfolio when circumstances and priorities change.
  • Build strong relationships across divisions and functions, creating alignment and gaining buy-in around portfolio priorities.
  • Enable greater transparency and visibility of innovation activities for senior leadership, including executive stakeholders.

Who You Are

You are a collaborative and influential portfolio professional who enjoys combining strategic thinking with hands-on execution. You are comfortable rolling up your sleeves to create reports, analyse data and develop dashboards yourself, while also building credibility with senior stakeholders across a complex international organisation.

We believe you bring:

  • 10+ years of relevant experience within portfolio management, innovation management, product development or innovation governance.
  • Demonstrated experience establishing portfolio management frameworks, governance and reporting structures.
  • Experience with portfolio management systems, preferably Planview.
  • Strong analytical capabilities and advanced data interpretation skills.
  • Experience with dashboard development, data visualization and business intelligence tools such as Power BI.
  • Ability to translate complex data into compelling business insights and executive-level storytelling.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management and influencing skills.
  • Strong listening skills and a collaborative approach to working across functions and cultures.
  • A pragmatic, hands-on mindset with a strong focus on delivering tangible outcomes.
