The Portfolio Director is responsible for strategic oversight of a portfolio of client programs and projects, ensuring delivery performance, risk management, and client outcomes across the portfolio. This role drives standardisation, predictability, and continuous improvement across Project and Program Management. With typically 10+ years of experience in project management or client-facing roles, this position involves leading cross-functional teams to drive successful project or program delivery, customer satisfaction, and long-term value. The Portfolio Director works closely with clients, internal teams, and senior stakeholders to address strategic needs, optimize delivery, and foster lasting relationships.
The Professional Services (PS) team is structured around 4 pillars: Business Consulting (BC); Project Management (PM); Service Delivery Management (SDM); and Service Engagement Management (SEM). From the early sales phase to final Go lives, this "One team" works closely together and in sync with all relevant stakeholders in The Americas and Client Services to secure best project experience and value for our clients. The combination of global scale standards and best practice with strong Market Unit execution is our DNA.
As SimCorp continues to expand its service catalogue and market reach, Project Managers are increasingly exposed to more complex and high velocity onboarding activities, with a constant demand for delivery excellence. This requires the implementation of high-quality delivery excellence process, appropriate tools and systematic execution across all opportunities. The mission of the role is to ensure that the region can efficiently and effectively handle multiple complex deliveries simultaneously, with good governance, stakeholder management and proper risk control measures in place, ultimately leading to increased success through delivery.
As a Portfolio Director you will be reporting to the Head of Delivery. You will be assigned the responsibility to either take the full ownership of client delivery or to provide support to the Head of Delivery through execution of best practices.
Working directly with Consulting teams, Commercial, Value Advisory, CSM, and all relevant Client Services stakeholders, you will be responsible for managing successful delivery of large and complex deals across The Americas, orchestrating inputs related to delivery health, performance, and risk across a defined client portfolio.
The Portfolio Director provides strategic oversight across a portfolio of client programs and projects, with accountability for delivery performance, risk management, and client outcomes. This role ensures consistent governance, reporting, and delivery standards across engagements, while providing senior escalation support to Program and Project Managers. The Portfolio Director partners with Professional Services leadership on capacity planning, delivery strategy, and continuous improvement initiatives, and represents the Project Management function in senior internal and client forums. The role plays a key part in shaping and evolving SimCorp's delivery model to drive predictability, scalability, and long-term client value.
For this role we are looking for experienced and ambitious individuals who will bring extensive client-facing experience, stakeholder management as well as both project sales and delivery experience to support our large and complex opportunities.

  • Strategic alignment, cross-initiative governance, portfolio budgeting and resourcing, executive reporting.

  • Owns a program (multiple interdependent projects) or a portfolio (multiple initiatives aligned to a strategy).

  • Responsible for strategic alignment, long-term planning, and benefit realisation.

  • Operates across multiple teams, business domains, or geographies.

  • Establishes and enforces governance frameworks and standards.

  • Own the strategic direction and operating model of a program or portfolio.

  • Drive alignment between multiple projects and organisational objectives.

  • Define governance, standards, and delivery frameworks for the program/portfolio.

  • Control program/portfolio budget, resource model, and sequencing.

  • Portfolio prioritisation within agreed boundaries.

  • Funding allocation across projects/programs.

  • Escalation pathways and risk mitigation strategies.

  • Operating cadence (steering committees, performance reviews).

For New York City only: The salary range for this position is $199, 280 -$298,920 USD .
