Summary:

Chesapeake Bank is looking for an individual to join our growing commercial loan team as a Commercial Portfolio Coordinator. The individual in this role will support several lenders, ensure customer financial information and loan documentation remain current, initiate annual credit reviews and loan renewal requests within the Loan Origination System (LOS), and coordinates the collection of required financial information from borrowers. The role serves as a key liaison between customers, lenders, and credit personnel to facilitate timely reviews, renewals, and extensions while maintaining compliance with bank policies and regulatory requirements. The Commercial Portfolio Coordinator is responsible for monitoring portfolio deadlines, tracking outstanding documentation, preparing loan extensions in the LOS, and providing exceptional service to both internal and external customers through proactive communication and effective portfolio management.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and maintain credit files on assigned portfolios with current financials.
  • Begin the renewal process for assigned relationships by identifying upcoming maturities and notifying the appropriate parties.
  • Contact customers directly to obtain updated financial statements, tax returns, and other required documentation for renewal requests.
  • Prepare and submit loan extension requests within the Loan Origination System in accordance with bank procedures and approval requirements.
  • Initiate annual review requests within the Loan Origination System (LOS) in accordance with established timelines and policy requirements.
  • Gather and validate required financial information and supporting documentation needed for annual credit reviews.
  • Support the credit analyst efforts by ensuring required borrower information is obtained and maintained in a timely manner.
  • Provide timely updates on annual review, renewal, and extension status.
  • Monitor ticklers (financials, insurance, covenants) and gather and review required information.
  • Monitor covenants and works with the credit analyst to assess as needed (monthly, quarterly, annually, Borrowing Base, etc.); monitor completion with updates to tracking system/LOS
  • Assist Loan Officer / Commercial Loan Administrator in any other functions/duties to further the overall customer/Bank relationship.
  • Understands their role as defined by the three lines of defense to maintain a compliance culture that includes risk management processes.
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements

The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills and enjoy working in a fast-paced environment.

  • Previous banking experience is preferred
  • College degree or equivalent qualifying job experience is preferred
