Job description

Position Overview

The Operations Manager – Bulk & Bagging Warehouses is responsible for overseeing day-to-day operations of Enstructure’s off-port warehouse facilities supporting maritime cargo. This role ensures the efficient handling, storage, processing, and distribution of bulk commodities and bagged goods while maintaining safety, compliance, and productivity standards. The ideal candidate will bring strong leadership, operational expertise, and a deep understanding of logistics within the maritime and port environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage all warehouse operations related to bulk materials and bagging processes, ensuring optimal throughput and efficiency
  • Supervise warehouse staff, including hiring, training, scheduling, and performance management
  • Oversee inventory control, ensuring accurate tracking, storage, and reporting of bulk and packaged goods
  • Coordinate closely with port operations, vessel schedules, trucking companies, and rail providers to ensure seamless cargo flow
  • Ensure compliance with all safety regulations, including OSHA standards and company policies
  • Implement and enforce standard operating procedures (SOPs) for bulk handling, bagging, and storage operations
  • Monitor equipment usage and coordinate maintenance for conveyors, bagging lines, forklifts, and other warehouse machinery
  • Identify and drive continuous improvement initiatives to increase efficiency, reduce costs, and minimize waste
  • Manage vendor relationships and coordinate with third-party service providers as needed
  • Prepare operational reports, KPIs, and performance metrics for senior leadership
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, and cost control initiatives for warehouse operations
  • Ensure compliance with environmental and maritime-related regulations for bulk commodities
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 5+ years of warehouse or terminal operations experience, preferably in bulk commodities or maritime logistics
  • Strong knowledge of bulk material handling, bagging operations, and warehouse management systems
  • Experience working in or alongside port operations is highly preferred
  • Proven leadership experience managing teams in a fast-paced, industrial environment
  • Familiarity with safety regulations (OSHA) and environmental compliance standards
  • Strong problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends, based on vessel and cargo schedules
Preferred Skills
  • Experience with bulk commodities such as aggregates, salt, fertilizer, grain, or similar materials
  • Knowledge of trucking logistics, rail coordination, and intermodal operations
  • Lean, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement certifications
Working Conditions
  • Primarily based in an industrial warehouse environment with exposure to dust, noise, and varying weather conditions
  • Frequent walking, climbing, and equipment oversight required
