Job Title: International Programs Activity Chaperone
Department: International Programs
Employment Type: Part-Time (Casual Hire)
Location: Kapolei, Hawaii
About Hawaii Tokai International College
Hawaii Tokai International College (HTIC) is a junior college accredited by the Accrediting Commission for Community and Junior Colleges (ACCJC). Through customized short-term programs, HTIC's International Programs Department (IP) offers intensive language and cultural learning experiences for students of various ages and backgrounds.
Position Summary
HTIC seeks qualified activity chaperones to support, participate in, and enhance the coordination of field trips and activities that promote the educational and personal development of our program participants.
Responsibilities
  • Escort student groups on field trips and ensure their safety.
  • Communicate effectively with vendors, IP staff, accompanying teachers, and school bus drivers during activities.
  • Engage students in English conversation to support their language development.
  • Collaborate with fellow chaperones to support program activities.
  • Provide basic first aid assistance when necessary.
  • Complete post-field trip reports in a timely and accurate manner.

Minimum Qualifications
  • High school diploma.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • General knowledge of American and Hawaiian culture, as well as educational sightseeing locations on O'ahu.
  • Understanding of and respect for diverse students and cultural backgrounds.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working with international students of various ages and language backgrounds.
  • Overseas or cross-cultural experience.
  • Work experience in a school setting, especially with international populations.
  • First Aid, CPR, and AED certification.

Compensation & Details
  • Pay Rate: $16.01/hour
