As a Supervisory International Trade Specialist, you will perform the following duties:

• Assessing the impact of foreign government actions on the competitiveness of U.S. industries.
• Developing and carrying out programs and engagements to strengthen U.S. industry international competitiveness and improve the competitive position of U.S. industry in foreign markets.
• Analyzing the acquisition of foreign citizens of domestic industry assets for its impact on national security.
• Communicating analyses and program details to both internal and external audiences through staff meetings, speaking engagements, internet content, reports, and briefing materials.

This Job Opportunity Announcement may be used to fill other Supervisory International Trade Specialist GS-1140-15, FPL GS-15 positions within the Department of Commerce in the same geographical location or local commuting area with the same qualifications and specialized experience.

• This position requires a TOP SECRET/SCI CLEARANCE: Any required investigations and clearances must be completed before the selectee can be placed in the position.

Qualifications
Qualification requirements in the vacancy announcements are based on the U.S. Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards Handbook, which contains federal qualification standards. Applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent in difficulty and responsibility to the next lower grade level in the Federal Service. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped the applicant with the particular competencies/knowledge, skills and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. This experience need not have been in the federal government.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations e.g., professional; philanthropic, religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies; knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
To qualify at the GS-15 level:
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: You must possess one full year (52 weeks) of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-14 in the Federal service. Specialized experience is defined as:

• Formulating, coordinating, and providing strategic guidance on the design and development of U.S. trade policy and export promotion strategies;
• Developing policy or strategy recommendations for senior officials regarding international trade or commercial issues;
• Communicating economic, trade, commercial, or legislative issues, both orally and in writing, to senior-level and high-ranking officials within and outside the Federal Government; AND
• Leading teams and/or supervising staff by assigning and prioritizing work, providing guidance and direction, monitoring performance, and ensuring the timely achievement of organizational and program objectives.
