We do this by offering services, such as airport pickups, holiday hosting, temporary housing, conversation partnerships, and social events and trips.Expected work schedule for the Communications Manager:Full- or part-time, flexible scheduleOccasional evenings and/or weekends for specific events/projectsAttendance at several conferences each year, including IFI Staff RetreatsPay structure for an Communications Manager:Requires the development of a ministry partner team which supplies the necessary prayer and financial support to cover salary, benefits, and ministry expensesTraining is provided to develop a team of ministry partnersPay range is typically between $35,307 and $92,700 after the period of support development, based on experience and other factorsCommunications Manager Benefits: Paid vacation, sick, holidays, and more (once eligible)Health benefits (medical, dental, and vision)403(b) retirement savings plan to help you plan for the futureFlexible hours and work-from-home availabilityWork for a growing Christian organizationStaff care to support mental, social, and spiritual health for all staffAbout the area and Responsibilities of a Communications ManagerThe Communications Manager guides the strategy for all communications, website, and public relations messages and collateral to consistently articulate IFI's mission.The Communications Manager will (list not all inclusive):Research, develop, implement, and evaluate a Columbus communications plan across IFI's discrete audiences in collaboration with the IFI team and constituents, including:Monthly email newsletters to local Columbus volunteers, prayers, donors, and students.Social media strategies and post content to be used by the Columbus ministry accountsOnline content on websites and social media that engages audience segments and leads to measurable actionColumbus websites performance, including making improvements to increase visitor engagement onlinePrint/online graphics, such as mass mailings, newsletters, brochures, videos, and websitesVideos to vividly express IFI's ministry to international students, local volunteers, and donors.Ensure media needs for local events, such as, event signups, video/audio, photography, and mailed/online promotionsHire media production teams for large live events, including an annual banquet and large student eventsManage staff and interns to help them excel in their work and meet deadlines and requirements by:Providing coaching, oversight, assessments for performance, and expectations for funding (paid staff)Providing staff care, fostering an environment for growth and spiritual health, ensuring staff members are vision drivenMeeting individually with direct reports for encouragementSubmit and manage the annual Columbus Communications budget. Develop and maintain financial and prayer partnerships for the budgeted needs of the role by sharing the vision of the ministry, ensuring minimum monetary standards are achieved, partner care, and sending out a ministry newsletter at least every other month to partners Other duties, as assigned. Duties/responsibilities may change at any time. We strongly encourage engagement as a volunteer (outside of normal job duties) in direct ministry to international students, such as helping at events, hosting, or being a conversation partner.Qualifications/expectations of the Communications Manager:Adherence to IFI's statement of faith, core values, and policies Is faithful, loyal and dedicated to IFI's mandate from the Lord to extend life-changing hospitality and friendship to international students out of reverence for JesusWell organized with attention to detail and ability to complete tasks independently Be a self-starter, able to work independently, as well as a team player Ability to work under stress and be flexible and hold others accountableProficient with technology, including Microsoft Office and Google applicationsExhibits a positive, professional manner and ability to work under stress and be flexibleExcellent writing/editing and verbal communication skillsA strong track record as an implementer who thrives on managing a variety of key initiatives concurrentlySelf-starter, able to work independently, and entrepreneurial; enjoys creating and implementing new initiativesCommunications Manager Required Education/Experience:Bachelor's degree in related field or demonstrable experienceExperience supervising others and managing projectsTraining, experience, or certification in online media creation, social media, or online marketingFamiliarity with concepts of design exemplified by a portfolio of workWillingness to use/learn Trello, Canva and Adobe Creative Cloud apps, including, but not limited to, Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Premiere Pro and AuditionExperience/familiarity with global social media platforms and social media advertising is preferred, as is experience with cross-cultural ministryInternational Friendships, Inc.
