Job description

 
 

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Platinum Electroplater. In this role, you will apply precision platinum coatings to critical components, ensuring compliance with strict engineering specifications, OEM requirements, and industry quality standards.

This is an hourly Union position and requires joining Local 475.

Pay rate is $30.46/hr with an additional 15% shift premium for 3rd shift

3rd shift is Sunday through Monday 11:00pm – 7”00am

MUST BE ABLE TO TRAIN ON 1ST SHIFT MON-FRI, 7AM-3PM

What You'll Do

  • Perform platinum electroplating on aerospace components
  • Prepare parts through cleaning, masking, and surface treatments
  • Operate plating equipment and monitor process parameters
  • Inspect finished parts and verify coating quality
  • Measure coating thickness using precision instruments
  • Complete production documentation and quality records
  • Follow safety, quality, and environmental procedures

What We're Looking For

Required:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Experience in manufacturing or aerospace environment
  • Ability to read technical drawings and specifications
  • Ability to perform basic mathematical and measurement concepts to support plating operations, including thickness calculations, current density adjustments, and process control checks
  • Strong attention to detail and process discipline
  • Comfortable working with chemicals and PPE

Preferred:

  • 1-2 years experience in electroplating or metal finishing
  • Familiarity with AS9100, NADCAP, or OEM standards preferred
  • Knowledge of plating chemistry and process control
 Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand for extended periods
  • Ability to lift up to 25–30 lbs
  • Ability to work around chemicals and plating tanks with proper PPE

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to a typical manufacturing environment.  The employee may also occasionally be exposed to moderate cold and moderate heat.  Exposure to the production facility includes loud noise, fumes, and moving equipment.
