Located in Brooklyn, Ohio, MPC Plating began as a metal plating operation and expanded into plastic plating in 1985. Today, MPC plates exclusively on plastics and operates as a full-service, one-stop job shop. We invest in world-class equipment and develop skilled teams capable of meeting the demanding specifications of customers across the Automotive, Appliance, Heavy Truck, and Medical industries.

Position: Plating TechnicianShift & Schedule

3 Openings – 1st Shift, 2nd Shift, & 3rd Shift
Overtime is frequently required, including Saturday mornings


Position Summary

The Plating Technician is responsible for monitoring and maintaining the automatic plating line to ensure the quality and consistency of all plated parts. This role includes chemical analysis, tank maintenance, filtration monitoring, and adherence to safety and environmental standards to support efficient production operations.


Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Monitor and maintain plating tanks, weirs, solution levels, air agitation, and filtration systems

  • Perform chemical additions and maintain proper formulation of plating solutions

  • Conduct temperature checks and pH testing according to established procedures

  • Monitor, clean, and replace filtration and regeneration systems per maintenance schedules

  • Oversee recovery systems and perform cleaning or maintenance as required

  • Interpret and follow written, verbal, diagram, and schedule-based instructions

  • Maintain a clean and safe work area around chemical storage, filtration, regeneration, and recovery equipment

  • Follow all safety procedures and properly use required personal protective equipment (PPE)

  • Complete required daily checklists and documentation

  • Assist other plating technicians as needed

  • Perform additional duties as assigned


Required Competencies, Skills & Experience
  • Ability to work overtime, sometimes on short notice

  • Strong ability to read and fill in checklists, correspondence, and procedure documentation

  • Commitment to following all safety regulations and PPE requirements

  • Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds

  • Excellent attendance and reliability

  • Ability to work effectively in a team-based manufacturing environment


Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge of hazardous material handling and chemical solution maintenance

  • Basic understanding of chemistry principles

  • Experience with plating on plastics or metals preferred

  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills


Work Environment & Physical Demands
  • Work in an industrial plating environment with exposure to chemicals and mechanical equipment

  • Stand and move throughout the shift

  • Lift and move materials weighing up to 50 pounds

  • Work around chemical tanks, filtration systems, and recovery equipment while following safety protocols
