Volt is immediately hiring for a Wave Solder Machine Operator in Milpitas, CA.
As a Wave Solder Machine Operator, you will:
Set up and run equipment that solders electronic parts to printed circuit boards (PCBs). They prepare the boards, adjust machine settings like heat and speed, and check the finished items for errors. This role is key in making sure electronics work safely.
  • Program machine parameters (like conveyor speed, temperature profiles, and solder wave height) according to work orders and assembly drawings
  • Visually check circuit boards before and after the soldering process, often using standards like IPC-A-610, to identify defects such as bridges, cold joints, or insufficient solder
  • Perform routine preventative maintenance, which includes cleaning the fluxers, emptying the wash system, and scraping dross (oxidized metal) off the molten solder bath
  • Trim or clip excess component leads, clean boards using aqueous washing systems, and perform minor touch-ups with a hand-soldering iron if required
  • Maintain production logs, log machine run times, and record any equipment downtime or defects while strictly following safety protocols

This is a full-time temp to hire contract opportunity.
Schedule: Monday-Friday - 6:00am-2:30pm
The ideal candidate will have:
  • Minimum 1 to 2 years' experience in wave soldering
  • Chemical handling (solder bar, flux)
  • With knowledge to identify PTH components like resistors/capacitors, connectors, relays etc.
  • With knowledge to identify components polarity/values and color code
  • Able to read and understand SOP
  • Able to lift 15 to 20 lbs

Pay range: $24.00-$26.00 per hour DOE
