JOB TITLE: Machine Operator - Plasma/CNC (Night Shift)

**Basic Function: **

JOB TITLE: Plasma Operator

Basic Function:

The purpose of this position is to program, set up, operate, adjust, and troubleshoot a Plasma Table. in accordance to ASME code, for pressure vessels and related components in preparation for vessel test and fit and final assembly; accurately read blueprints; do layout from the blueprints.

Essential Duties:

  • Must have the ability to understand and follow all safety rules.
  • Must have the ability to operate the overhead crane, scissor lifts and ladders.
  • Must know, understand, and abide by 5S housekeeping procedures and Lean Manufacturing practices.
  • Must demonstrate full competence in meeting safety, quality and production standards.
  • Must have the ability to locate and nest parts for the plasma cutter.
  • Must have the ability to program, set up, and operate the plasma
  • Must have the ability to identify correct cut start point(s).
  • Must have the ability to identify and cut plate
  • Must have the ability to troubleshoot and adjust the plasma
  • Must have the ability to perform basic machine maintenance on the plasma table
  • Must have the ability to input material specifications into the Plasma control computer.
  • Must have the ability to safely load and unload material in and out of the plasma table

Other Duties:

  • Perform any other job duties as directed by the Team Leader or Supervisor.

Education Required:

  • High school degree or GED equivalent preferred; technical training at an accredited school preferred. Must have good reading, writing and math skills.

Experience Required:

  • One to two years of Machine Operation and computer skills, to operate CNC equipment such as: CNC Tube Bender, CNC Drill, CNC Plasma Table, and CNC Plate Roller; experience operating overhead cranes.
