What You Can Expect Working in the Machine Operator Position

This Machine Operator I will operate one or more of the various production machines. Machines operated may include drills, saws, press brakes, punches, shears, high-definition and CNC plasma, etc. As a Machine Operator I, you may also assemble components and perform other duties as assigned. As a Machine Operator I, you are integral in supporting RedGuard Diversified Structures' goal of delivering customers a quality product on time.


Responsibilitiesย 

Sets up, loads, and operates machines to produce goods according to production schedules and specifications.

Inspects products and ensures they meet quality standards, using measuring tools and instruments.

Adheres to safety regulations, wearing required personal protective equipment (PPE), and maintaining a clean and organized work area.

Records material usage, downtime, and production data.

Communicates production status, problems, and solutions to supervisors and other team members.

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications

Ability to read blueprints, follow written and verbal instructions, and perform basic calculations.

Ability to accurately read and use a tape measure.

Proficiency with mechanical tools; basic arithmetic and computer skills may be required depending on the machinery used.

Ability to lift heavy objects, stand for extended periods, and work in a fast-paced environment.

Attention to detail to ensure parts and products meet quality specifications.

  • Heavy work. Exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.

  • Must have manual dexterity, a good sense of balance, and excellent hand-eye coordination.
  • The worker is frequently required to operate machinery and/or power tools. Must be able to safely work with sharp tools or power equipment.ย 
  • The worker is subject to environmental conditions. Protection from weather conditions but not necessarily from temperature changes.
  • The worker is subject to hazards. Includes a variety of physical conditions, such as proximity to moving mechanical parts, moving vehicles, electrical current, working on scaffolding and high places, exposure to high heat or exposure to chemicals.
  • Must have full use of both hands and arms to perform tasks requiring coordination, strength, and fine motor skills. This includes handling tools or equipment, lifting or carrying materials, operating machinery, and performing repetitive or precise movements with both hands simultaneously.
