Job Description

Description:

This nationwide industry leader has an immediate 9-10+ month contract opportunity in New York City for a Planview Administrator.

Will have the opportunity to grow into a Project Management position.

The IT organization has implemented Planview as a centralized planning tool to manage the IT Project Portfolio and associated resource planning and management against those projects (Planview as a PPM tool).

Given the size of the organization and this specific implementation, there is a need for a newly created role to manage the system from both a technical administration and business functional standpoint.

Planview is the only system utilized by the entire IT organization and must be constantly maintained and adapted to provide clean data and the required output for making IT executive management decisions.

The role is a combination of routine administrative duties couple with detailed technical configuration and workflow construction plus reporting to support the constantly changing needs of the diverse IT organization.

Current users of this platform include Executives (need reporting for decisions), Project/Program Managers (responsible for creating and managing project plans, schedules and resourcing requests), Resource Managers (responsible for managing the effective use of IT resources including utilization and task assignment) and Team Members (responsible for entering weekly timesheets).

A crucial requirement for the Planview administrator is the ability to create custom reports to support the evaluation of project / portfolio status and to allow the organization to determine the optimal start and delivery dates for projects.

In additional to configuring and maintaining the Planview system, the incumbent will support training of new users.

One crucial aspect of the job is having the skillset and the ability to analyze data to develop reports that can provide the organization with insight for supporting schedule decisions.
