What You'll Do
  • Strategic Planning - Work alongside the Director of Operations and Department Managers to consistently develop the future strategic plan, outlining a roadmap for the next 5, 10, and 15 years.
  • Team management - Successfully lead the engineering team by overseeing recruiting, interviewing, hiring, and training of engineering personnel. Additionally, conduct performance reviews and assign tasks to the most suitable team members.
  • Project Development - Lead your team and collaborate with operating departments to transform ideas into actionable projects.
  • Develop construction specifications, bid packages, budget cost estimates, construction schedules, permitting, etc as required to insure completion of projects on time and within budget
  • Project management includes overseeing projects from inception to completion, monitoring budgets and timelines, and ensuring safe and timely delivery within budget.
  • Process Projects - Assist the operations and maintenance departments with various non-capex projects and enhancements, including plant infrastructure, process upgrades, safety improvements, and reliability and ergonomics initiatives.
  • Planning - Lead the annual Capex planning process, thoroughly evaluate proposed projects for feasibility and readiness.
  • Technical oversight involves reviewing project designs to ensure they meet engineering principles, contract requirements, and standards. It can also include conducting research and development for new products, designs, and processes.
  • Collaboration - Working with other management personnel and teams within the company to coordinate work and get the resources their team needs.
  • Communication - Ensure clear and efficient communication throughout the organization, both locally and beyond.
What You'll Need
  • Five years' experience in equipment and/or facilities layout, basic process design, material handling design, or related field
  • Must be willing and able to occasionally travel for short periods of time
  • Proficiency in Excel, Word, Auto-CAD (Inventor and 3D modeling are a plus), Adept, SAP PS and Microsoft Project
  • Analytical skills for evaluating information carefully and solving complex problems.
  • Communication skills for overseeing staff, other management personnel, hourly employees and contractors / vendors. They need to be able to effectively communicate needs, instructions, details, good and bad news as it may pertain to each group.
  • Detail-oriented for understanding complex systems and the ability to pay attention to details, as a minor error can result in major problems.
  • Ability to read detailed AutoCAD drawings.
  • Proficient abilities to modify drawings in AutoCAD
  • Analyze update and produce detailed project schedules utilizing Microsoft project.
  • Organizational skills for keeping track of various budgets, employees and schedules simultaneously.

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering required.
