The MOCVD Process engineer will perform epitaxial growth and process optimization in a 24/7 volume production environment.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Develop epitaxial growth recipes and analyze materials characterization data to develop new processes and drive process optimization
  • Develop SPC methods and reactor metrics to increase production yield, track process capability, and drive continuous improvement
  • Lead reactor troubleshooting activities and conduct analysis of production failures, including authoring and executing corrective actions as necessary
  • Generate, document and approve SOPS and WI's for reactor management and maintenance activities
  • Perform, oversee, schedule and document all reactor maintenance
  • Develop and maintain reactor schedule for production and maintenance activities
  • Summarize work with detailed reports and presentations
  • Interface directly with groups such as business development, quality, characterization and operations in order to help grow the business
  • Contribute to the development of company intellectual property

Qualifications
  • BS/MS/PhD in material science, electrical engineering or related discipline
  • Minimum 3-5 years epitaxial growth experience
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Direct MOVPE experience preferred
  • Understanding of electronic and optical device physics
  • Knowledge of SPC principles and software packages
  • Experience in performing hands-on reactor maintenance activities
Supervisory Responsibilities
  • Potential exists to manage team of growth technicians
Physical Demands
Must be able to respond to visual and audible alarms Regular and consistent attendance at the office
Ability to travel regularly by airline and public transportation systems Ability to work for extended periods of time in a cleanroom environment
