Location: Cambridge Healthcare Services (In-OFFICE, Buena Park, CA)
Scope: Supports approximately 6,000 employees across 36 facilities
Position Summary
The Senior Benefits Analyst is responsible for the day-to-day administration of Cambridge Healthcare Services' benefits and retirement programs. This role serves as the primary operational partner to the Benefits Manager and acts as a backup for critical benefits functions.
This position owns system administration for UKG and PlanSource, manages benefits transactions, maintains 401(k) records, and ensures accurate and compliant execution of all benefits processes. The role is hands-on and requires strong attention to detail, system knowledge, and problem-solving ability.
Position Purpose
Ensure accurate, timely, and compliant administration of all benefits programs while supporting system functionality, operational continuity, and scalable processes across all Cambridge Healthcare facilities.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Benefits Administration
  • Administer day-to-day benefits operations including medical, dental, vision, life, disability, and voluntary plans
  • Process enrollments, qualifying life events, terminations, and eligibility changes
  • Support administration of leave of absence programs including FMLA, CFRA, ADA, and PDL
  • Respond to employee and HR inquiries and resolve issues in a timely manner
  • Assist with open enrollment including system setup, testing, and employee support
  • Systems Administration (UKG and PlanSource)
  • Serve as primary administrator for benefits modules within UKG and PlanSource
  • Maintain system configuration, eligibility rules, and benefit plan setup
  • Manage file feeds, carrier connections, and data integrity
  • Troubleshoot system issues and coordinate with vendors as needed
  • Perform audits and reconciliations to ensure accuracy across systems

Retirement Plan Administration
  • Maintain 401(k) plan records with Fidelity Investments
  • Process eligibility, enrollments, loans, distributions, and status changes
  • Support audits and ensure accurate data transmission and reconciliation
  • Assist with employee questions related to retirement plans

Compliance and Reporting
  • Support compliance with ACA, ERISA, COBRA, HIPAA, and applicable state regulations
  • Assist with audits, reporting, and documentation requirements
  • Reconcile carrier invoices and ensure billing accuracy
  • Maintain organized records for audits and regulatory reviews
  • Operational Support
  • Act as backup to the Benefits Manager for key processes and deadlines
  • Identify process improvement opportunities and support implementation
  • Help standardize workflows across all facilities
  • Support vendor coordination and issue resolution
  • Participate in benefits-related projects and system enhancements

Education and Experience Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred
  • 3 to 6 years of hands-on benefits administration experience
  • Strong experience with HRIS and benefits administration systems (UKG, PlanSource or similar)
  • Experience supporting multi-site or multi-state organizations preferred
  • Working knowledge of benefits compliance including ACA, ERISA, COBRA, HIPAA, FMLA, and CFRA
