Director, Financial Planning & Analysis
Full-Time • Research Triangle, NC • Hybrid
Overview
Banyan Search is partnering with a growing, well-established organization to place a Director of Financial Planning & Analysis. This is a high-impact leadership opportunity for a finance professional ready to serve as a strategic partner to Marketing and Operations, owning the full finance stack across a multi-business-line environment. From budgeting, forecasting, and accounting to internal controls, growth evaluation, and process modernization, this role offers real scope and visibility for the right candidate.
Key Responsibilities
  • Own annual operating and capital budgets; deliver in-year projections and drive executive cash and capital planning across multiple business units
  • Oversee revenue and expense accounting for all business units; certify accuracy and deliver clear written and verbal narratives on monthly results
  • Guide financial operations across AP, AR, payroll, T&E, cash management, banking, reconciliations, and trial balance production
  • Partner with Finance leadership to design, document, and enforce internal controls; standardize policies and procedures across the organization
  • Evaluate growth opportunities and new business launches - including pro formas and capital needs - and manage capital asset acquisitions
  • Establish preferred vendor programs, business insurance strategy, and document retention practices; uphold enterprise risk and compliance responsibilities
  • Build scalable financial processes and leverage modern tools to drive data-driven decision-making across the business

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required; CPA preferred
  • 7+ years of progressively responsible accounting and finance experience, including 3+ years leading teams
  • Background in a professional or corporate services environment; multi-entity or divisional exposure strongly preferred
  • Proficiency with ERP and financial reporting platforms; experience with reconciliation, BI, and Excel-based reporting tools required
  • Proven track record in workflow design and process improvement; demonstrated success building scalable operations in a growth environment
  • Strong leader-coach with high integrity, analytical acumen, and excellent communication skills
  • Change-ready, proactive, and energized by continuous improvement in a fast-moving environment
