Position Summary: The Planner I is responsible for managing and aligning all facets of Supply Chain (master scheduling, inventory planning, releasing and prioritizing work orders with operations and manufacturing) while also maintaining, coordinating, and strategizing for contractual commitments and deadlines. This role requires 0-3 years of experience working in manufacturing supply chain and a strong understanding of supply chain management concepts. The Planner I works closely with all internal SIG departments, especially Operations, to tie together all major deadlines.

FLSA: Exempt

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage deadlines based on expectations.
  • Ensure that MRP (Material Requirements Planning) signals are accurate, appropriate, and are fully compliant with internal policies and customer requirements.
  • Assist Operations with clearing production hurdles, that may not just be material constraints related. Monitor parts through manufacturing processes and expedite as required. Maintain an even approach to achieving production needs when working with other teams.
  • Navigate standard reports and basic functions within EBS and provide limited analytics on WIP and inventory.
  • Monitor the program(s) schedule performance, track plans, and perform schedule risk analyses.
  • Recommend viable solutions to reduce production costs as well as improve production processes and product quality, while also being aware of contractual parameters.
  • Act as escalation point for Production Coordinators.
  • Engage in Continuous Improvement projects/tasks.
  • Communicate effectively to supervision regarding problems and corrective action.
  • Participate in and sustain 5S Standards.
  • Must follow all required Safety and ISO procedures.
  • Miscellaneous duties as assigned.

Education/Experience & Skills:

  • Bachelors degree in Business or related field, 0-3 years of experience working in manufacturing supply chain, and a strong understanding of supply chain management concepts.
  • Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) required, previous experience with ERP systems (especially Oracle) preferred.
  • Must be able to clearly, concisely, and accurately convey ideas and information to others, both verbally and in written form.
  • Capable of completing assigned tasks on time.

Working Conditions:

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working at a computer using a keyboard and mouse performing repetitive tasks.
  • Ability to open file cabinets, reach with hands and arms, bend, and twist, lift and move files.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.
  • Must wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) where required.
  • Must comply with all work exposure EH&S training requirements and adhere to SIG SAUER Inc. Security Mandates
