Pipe Support Engineer | Ogden, UT


Nexeo HR is assisting with a direct‑hire placement for a Pipe Support Engineer supporting large‑scale facility and underground piping infrastructure projects in Ogden, Utah. This role focuses on complex facility piping systems and requires expertise in pipe support design, structural frame analysis, and working within a 3D plant model environment.

This position offers a 9/80 schedule (every other Friday off), paid overtime, and relocation assistance.


Job Responsibilities


  • Design and locate pipe supports for complex facility piping systems
  • Review piping layouts and support requirements in accordance with ASME B31.3 and industry standards
  • Apply knowledge of common pipe support hardware and industry best practices
  • Perform pipe support and structural frame calculations using GT STRUDL or similar analysis tools
  • Work closely with pipe stress engineers and layout designers to ensure constructability
  • Coordinate with structural, mechanical, and electrical disciplines
  • Perform work within a 3D model / BIM plant environment
  • Ensure designs are cost‑effective, code‑compliant, and structurally sound


Job Qualifications


  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering (Structural or Mechanical preferred)
  • 6+ years of pipe support engineering experience
  • Strong knowledge of ASME B31.3 and AISC standards
  • Experience reviewing piping layouts and support requirements for facility projects
  • Hands‑on experience working with stress analysis programs
  • Experience using GT STRUDL or similar structural frame analysis software
  • Experience working in a 3D plant model environment
  • Background supporting large, complex facilities such as:
  • Oil & gas or petrochemical plants
  • Mining or utility facilities
  • Nuclear facilities
  • Data centers
  • Hospitals or industrial plants
  • Real ID–compliant driver’s license


Highly Desired


  • PE registration
  • Previous EPC or large facility project experience
  • Experience working closely with pipe stress and layout teams
  • Background in plant or facility design environments


Pay

$118,000 – $150,000 annually


Schedule
