Position: Regional Sales Manager - Plumbing/Industrial, Western US Region

The Regional Sales Manager - Plumbing/Industrial is responsible for developing and executing a regional business plan to revitalize the Plumbing & Industrial sales channels within the Western US, all States West of Mississippi. This remote position requires residency near a major airport in AZ, CO, NM or NV. The role centers on achieving sales objectives through strategic engagement with both current and potential customers, focusing on generating demand at the specifier, owner, and contractor levels.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

May include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Engage the regional National Plumbing Buying Group members - AD and IMARK to determine our relevance, position, and our go forward strategy to reclaim lost market share and gain new business
  • Engage the regional National Plumbing Account members - Hajoca, Winsupply, and Reece Plumbing to determine our relevance, position, and our go forward strategy to reclaim lost market share and gain new business
  • Engage the regional National Industrial Supply Distributors - Harrington Industrial Plastic, Grainger, and McMaster-Carr to determine our relevance, position, and our go forward strategy to reclaim lost market share and gain new business
  • Work with planning to determine available capacity and stocking locations to increase fill rates to a minimum 95%+ across the region
  • Determine and prioritize which of the above entities we should engage first, to maximize share growth
  • Evaluate current agency network & compensation plan to optimize performance going forward
  • Collaborate with planning teams to optimize inventory capacity and distribution, aiming to achieve a fill rate of at least 95% nationwide.
  • Identify and prioritize target accounts and partners to maximize market share growth.
  • Evaluate and refine the agency network and compensation structures to ensure optimal performance.
  • Deliver professional presentations and demonstrations showcasing company products and services.
  • Spend approximately 70% of work time in the field with representatives and customers, conducting training sessions, presentations, and relationship-building activities.
  • Stay informed on industry trends, competitor products, and market research, and share relevant insights with management.
  • Maintain and enhance professional and technical expertise through ongoing education and networking.
  • Address customer concerns by identifying issues and facilitating timely solutions.
  • Provide weekly market activity reports and monthly territory analyses to management.
  • Manage the Travel and Entertainment Budget to maximize ROI.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in regional sales management.
  • Must have plumbing/industrial background via wholesale distribution and/or manufacturing.
  • Must have sales experience of DWV fittings, sch40, sch80, and pipe sales.
  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in business or a related field.
  • Highly motivated self-starter with a strong team orientation and a proven results-driven approach.
  • Excellent presentation, organizational, and time management abilities.
  • Demonstrated history of surpassing corporate goals.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong technical aptitude, with the ability to present complex concepts and conduct hands-on product demonstrations.
  • Willingness and ability to travel extensively (up to 60-70%) within the assigned territory, all states west of Mississippi.
  • Valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
  • Must be currently residing near a major airport in AZ, CO, NM or NV.
