We are seeking a Full-Time, Part time and PRN SNF Physical Therapy Assistant to join our team at Bear Creek Senior Living in Colorado Springs, CO.

Your Role

As a Physical Therapy Assistant at Bear Creek Senior Living, youโ€™ll work under the direction of a licensed Physical Therapist as a vital part of a compassionate team dedicated to enriching the lives of our residents. Your duties will include:

  • Providing direct patient care under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist, assisting with treatment interventions and therapeutic exercises
  • Assisting in reviewing patientsโ€™ functional needs and reporting observations to the supervising Physical Therapist to support optimal patient outcomes
  • Implementing established plans of care as directed by the Physical Therapist, incorporating participation by significant others whenever appropriate
  • Conducting therapy practice within defined standards of care and in accordance with the Physical Therapistโ€™s treatment plan
  • Directing the assistance of support staff to achieve patientsโ€™ functional goals
  • Communicating effectively with the supervising Physical Therapist, other professionals, and support staff to achieve positive patient outcomes
  • Following facility and departmental policies and procedures, including quality improvement, safety, environmental, and infection control standards
  • Documenting treatment sessions, patient responses, and progress notes; regularly updating documentation and maintaining records as required
  • Enhancing professional growth and development of self and others through participation in educational programs, in-service meetings, and workshops
Qualifications
  • Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapy Assistant program
  • Current Physical Therapy Assistant license from the state of Colorado
  • Knowledge and skills to care for the physical and developmental needs of the population age groups that will be receiving services
  • At least one year of experience as a physical therapy assistant preferred
  • Ability to remain calm in emergency or crisis situations
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
