Job description

Respect Mo Voters is seeking someone to reach out to volunteers who have gone quiet for more than a month, and gently help them reintegrate back into the group, should they so wish to. This position is in the Volunteer Experience (VolEx) Department on the Retention Team.

What This Role Does

  • Attend Departmental and Program Meetings
  • Accurately convey meaningful information in a timely, regular, manner
  • Help volunteers find places to fit in
  • Monitor overall effectiveness of Program, and assess potential areas for improvement
  • Correctly delegate tasks to the necessary people

Skills Needed

  • Familiarity with VAN (Training is available!) to create lists of folks to reach out to
  • Strong worth ethic and good organizational skills -things can get a little crazy at times
  • Ability to communicate and delegate as needed
  • Familiarity with Google Voice, and the where-with-all to call multiple people a week.
  • Able and willing to phone bank by calling, or otherwise reaching out to inactive volunteers

Responsibilities

  • Use VAN contact volunteers across the organization who have been inactive for two months, and see if they’re interested in reengaging with the group, or would like to leave.
    • If they wish to leave, see to it they are allowed to without a fuss, and mark them accordingly in VAN
    • If they would stay, inquire into their interests and availability and help them find a place back in the organisation
    • If they broke contact from an issue, report it to leadership accordingly
    • There’s a six-month cool-down before they’re let go.
    • Coordinate lists of volunteers between other departments

  • Zoom – Used for Department and Program meetings
  • Google Sheets – Where resources are stored
